Update announcement on 23 October 2010
The K-Swiss ITU Triathlon event scheduled for tomorrow Sunday 24 Oct is on. Hooray!
Unfortunately, it has not been possible to build the swim exit ramp, due to the weather, so it has been necessary to change the swim course, which reverts to an anti-clockwise 750m rectangular lap from and back to the ferry pier: one lap for Sprint and two laps for Olympic. This results in a very long run from the swim exit along WaterFront Promenade to T1 of around 900m. You are advised to wear running shoes to cover the distance, Aquathon style. An area on the bridge leading to the pier will be cordoned off for leaving shoes.
Have a magical race!
Update announcement on 22 October 2010
If Typhoon Signal No. 1 or above is still hoisted at 0400 of 23 October 2010, the Ultrakids, Fun Distance and Youth Open race scheduled on 23 October 2010 will be cancelled due to safety concern. If the event proceeds it will be converted to a duathlon (run, bike, run). Details of the first run leg will be given on site. The bike leg and second run leg will remain unchanged. For relay teams, the first run leg may be performed by either the swimmer or the runner.
Arrangements for Sunday's race will be announced on Saturday afternoon by 5 o'clock.
